Olotu Square just concluded a 3 Day Hackers Boot Camp event in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

The Hackers Boot Camp is an offshoot of the Famous Hack Day Event that had its debut in 2019 in Port Harcourt and is organized by the HackerSQ department of the Tech Hub.

“This initiative falls under the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals of Decent Work and Economic Growth. This is in line with the organization’s mission of achieving employability/entrepreneurship in the Niger Delta Region of Nigeria,” says Aima Atigari who is the former Chief Executive Officer of Olotu Square and was present at the event.

The Boot Camp was a 3-day practical training to stimulate the interest of youths in the industry. The training ensured that participants were well-grounded in the fundamentals of ethical hacking.

“This training exposes them to the possibility of being key players in the international Cyber Security industry. An industry estimated to be worth a whopping 2.5 billion dollars.”

“We are working with stakeholders to provide a pipeline of youths that are needed in the Cyber Security industry. My state is definitely on the list of states I want to work with within the region.” Says Lucas Bruce – Founder of Olotu Square and Former Chief Technology Officer of GeroCare.

The event was held in Bayelsa State Tech Hub located in Yenagoa the Bayelsa State capital.

The Bayelsa Tech Hub is Powered by The Bank of Industry and managed by Vatebra Tech Hub.

It is an innovative space designed to support Start-ups with the infrastructure, mentorship, and access to the funding they require to grow their businesses and scale.

The Bayelsa Tech Hub was commissioned by a former Governor of Bayelsa State, His Excellency, Dickson Seriake in 2019
